Arkansas State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
Renewal Date: 9/30 each year
Continuing Education Deadline: 12/31 each year
Hours Required: 7 hours
Principal Brokers (PB) and Executive Brokers (EB):
- 6 hours - 2023 Required Supervising Broker Course
- 1 hour - Required Safety Course
Associate Brokers (AB):
- 6 hours - 2023 Required Supervising Broker Course
- 1 hour - Required Safety Course
- OR -
- 3 hours - 2023 Required Salesperson Course
- 1 hour - Required Safety Course
- 3 hours - Electives
Salespersons (SA):
- 3 hours - 2023 Required Salesperson Course
- 1 hour - Required Safety Course
- 3 hours - Electives
NOTE: Associate Brokers may elect to take either track. If an Associate Broker has aspirations of becoming a supervising broker, it is highly recommended that they choose Track 1. Salespersons will not be allowed to take the 6-hour 2023 Required Supervising Broker course. Principal Brokers and Executive Brokers may take the 3-hour 2023 Required Salesperson Best Practices Course but will not receive AREC continuing education credit for the course.
The CE Shop’s Offering: 7 hours
Reporting: The state requires schools to report course completions within seven to ten days. Course completions will be reported within this time frame.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course but are generally one year after order date. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.
Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with at least a 70% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.
Certificates: Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion with your renewal. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
License Renewal Instructions: A licensee must complete all continuing education and submit Certificate(s) of Completion with their renewal paperwork to the Arkansas Real Estate Commission no later than 9/30 each year in order to avoid a penalty fee.
Post-Licensing: A new Salesperson must complete the 18-hour AREC post-licensure course by the end of the 6th month following their initial date of licensure. A new Broker must complete the 30-hour AREC post-licensure course by the end of the 6th month following their initial date of licensure.
